About

OK, so I don’t work for NBC or Dunder Mifflin or have any real affiliation with the TV show “The Office.”

Except that it’s my life.

My boss IS Michael Scott. And so many of the people around me fall into the other characters of this hilarious show.

It’s hard to see the humor in these situations when you are encountering them in real life. So it is here where I will share these stories, replacing real names with names of characters and places from the show. Perhaps others will be able to find humor in these stories.

For the sake of anonymity, and respect for my company, I will say I work at the Scranton, Pa., branch of Dunder Mifflin, a paper company. Though my real company does not produce paper, I will try to relay my stories in terms of Dunder Mifflin.

Very little else has changed in these entries. You can’t make this stuff up.

Hi, my name is Pam Beesly. Welcome to my Office.

  2. Thanks so much!

  3. hahaha…you work for a Michael Scott? Bless you Pam…lol….well hopefully this also means there is a cute “Jim” in your office 😉

  4. WOW I really feel your pain. I use to work in an office EXACTLY like yours and the show. I could only take my sanity for a year working there, giving my two weeks and quitting was the best decision I ever made.

My boss was a female.. who was extremely ignorant. She was suppose to know simple tasks and supposedly she was hired because she was a computer whiz. But both of those things she was Not. I had to teach her how to do her job and of course in the end she took the credit. Heaven opened the gates one day when I walked in for work..sat down at my desk and noticed our BIG boss was cornering her along with our 2 other BIG bosses.. closed off in a room. You could still hear the echoing of their arguments as they locked the door. She was being fired 🙂 Rumor has it, she took the companies credit card and was out shopping with her family!! Not just that, but she also went on vacation……you know… to Disney World.. on THAT business credit card. OK… so that was probably the best day of my career…watching her fall…but yet.. I still felt a bit of pity for her.

Why do these people hire these types of people as bosses? I’d assume cause the company really doesn’t care to succeed…that’s their way of quitting, OR they too are like Micheal Scott. We have Michael’s all over the career field, its a bit scary!!

I really enjoy your blog!!! definitely will be back

  5. I’m a little bit freaking out, cuz today your blog showed up in my Blog Surfer and I don’t remember subscribing to your blog or reading it (but I’m loving it) but then again my name is Vinomom…so it’s possible I don’t remember.

But I just wrote this post…
    http://vinomom.wordpress.com/2008/10/20/i-work-for-michael-scott-and-my-name-is-angela/

So I thought maybe you subscribed to me? Apparently we are living the same life? Only I have no one to commiserate with so I’ve become Angela instead of Pam. In otherwords I’m not very nice.

    Can’t wait to read more!

  6. nice feelings in ur office ……..otherwise I hate offices !!!

    keep going ……….

    will keep coming …….
